Has anyone been fishing at, or around, the Little Bow Provincial Park lately? Just wondering what the ice is like.

I know there is 18"-21" in the NE arm, but I also heard a truck fell through somewhere in the SE... So who knows what the park is like.

Heard a truck fell thru out by the travers dam campground.

Can you drive on @ the boat launch by the inlet canal/ townsite ?

I'm thinking about going out to Travers on Friday. Any updates? Thinking of targeting whitefish, so was wondering how its fishing.

Fishing is slow. Whitefish are hit or miss.

If you're planning on fishing at the park this weekend, I wouldn't reccomend it. With the river rising (higher then normal for this time of year) and spring run off the ice looks awful!

I was out with the boy last weekend looking for whites fishing shallow thinking they might be eating burb eggs this time of year. Nothing but a small hammer handle.

But it we also had a couple of tip ups in just in case, and we also run a camera and DVR by one of them as a matter of habit now. And you know other than watching a few pike (including a pig of one) ignore our smelt we saw numerous feeding white fish, but what they were eating was 4 feet up in 15-18 feet of water. But they were singles and just cruising we did not notice them until we looked at the whole morning’s video on the computer that night.

Next time out I will fish a small jig spoon and fly combo in 15-20 feet 3-4 feet off the bottom.
