windy fishing

Hit the lake, managed to set up the 6x12 tent by myself in the 20 MPH without too much cursing. Fishing was ok, :bad_boys_20: nothing bigger than 12 pounds today. Did end up with a big pain in the azz under the ice, had a pig that decided I was her meal ticket today. she spend the whole afternoon trying to eat all the other pike I was drawing in. chased a small one to the ice once, then later she chased a 4 pounder right into the hole! She picked up a couple of my baits but she was very hook shy, wouldnt touch them at the hooks. couple times I could see 4 and 5 pike on the camera without even turning it around. Had one hit a rattlin rap 3 times so fast it couldnt get it in the mouth. Every rattling lure brought in a huge school of perch, was awesome to see them scatter as soon as a pike came around. And the craziest vid of the day, had one interested in my jig and smelt, then the piggy came into the screen from the right, then all chaos broke loose and another one grabbed and ran, thats the one the pig chased into the hole.

ended up taking the tent down in a hurricane, good thing it hit from the end not the side, still ripped 2 of the anchor straps off. kinda like wrassling a PO'd annaconda getting that down and folded and in the truck!

Thanks for taking the videos! Id like to know what camera setup that is as well.

Sorry I'm sure you've probably said it a few times already.

Also watching your other videos, do u already have 2 hooks down? If not Could u lightly attach a hook on the nose of that camera for situations like that? I can't think of any issues with that.

camera is an aquaview AV700 just did the vids on my crappy cell phone camera. Ive thought about putting hooks on a camera case, but tried a big perch lure today and they were doing the same thing, just pushing it around mostly

So I think I get it.. after watching your videos Wayne… my bait is too small…your bait is about as big as the fish that I've caught…. I must be doing something wrong!!

the pike love those weeds, and the perch just sort of filter down into it. once they rot the gas in there will be terrible.
