So I finally got around to trying to make alarmed tip ups with those cheep door alarms since Princess auto was selling them for 7 bucks, so I bought 2. When I got them home i brought out my tip ups (i have a few different styles) to see how they match up. The large storage compartment on my HT termals got me to thinking that I could disasemble the alarm and fit everything inside that compartment.
The alarms sound at the contacts and from a remote that I will place in the shack. Since I didnt want any sound at the tip up to spook the fish I cut that speaker out. I removed the 2 circut board thingys, and cut out the battery holder as I saw that as the only part of the case that I could use. a few wires had to be removed from the boards and resoldered... glad that went well since it was my first time soldering electrical.
I added a toggle switch because with this alarm, the remote can only "find" an alarm when you first put the battery in. The remote can recognize three channels, so I have 2 more to make.
All in all its working out okay... just taking too much time.
