Are you wondering if it is thick enough? Everything down south is still well frozen. If you are wondering about driving a vehicle on the ice, I have no clue.

Not sure but I would assume there is a lot of ice. I would not drive out on it due to the springs that run in but if you are walking it should not be a problem. I will be heading down for the ice fishing derby coming up Feb 7-8 I can give you an update when I get back.

It is not that big a lake and with the winds they get down there I just don't think I would ever consider driving on.

If you can take a quad with you that is the way to go.

good luck

Derby is 7-8th this year? isn't it usually 2 weeks later?

A co-worker was down there this past weekend. 3 of them caught 3 rainbows and 2 small brown's. They caught the RB's first thing in the morning and then nothing till late in afternoon for the browns. Nothing big. I'll ask him tomorrow about the ice.

My co-worker said there is 12" of ice. They drove on first, after seeing another truck on the ice. It kind of freaked them out when they drilled there first hole and realised there was only 12". Hardly any snow so it was easy to get around.

The Duck Lake Derby is usually held on the weekend after the Superbowl which is being played on Sunday the 2nd. So this year it would fall on the 7-8th.

Nothing big left in that lake. Rare to see a fish over 20". Such a shame. They need cut the stocking rate in half for a while
