The other week I caught a burbot for the very first time he was about 26" and they are not a very good looking fish at all. I was actually a little skeptical about cooking it and figured it would taste like crap but I was wrong. I made up a beer batter for it and fried it up and the wife doesn't usually eat much fish and she really enjoyed it, plus no bones so a big plus, I actually would like to catch some more of these

Burbot is excellent in the winter out of the cold water ......... nice big clean and firm meat .... some guys eat the giant liver ....... not me ....
