Size of wire on your wireworms

After three trips... I've determined that wire diameter does seem to play a factor in hookups on whites.

I had two types of brass WWs set up, right next to each other. Both brass, same hook size, holes were less than two feet apart.

Thin wireworm out fished thick wireworm consistantly.

Very interesting.


Anyone else with odd whitefish findings?

Interesting .... I have never considered this before on whites - but I can definitely support the idea.

Anyone who has any experience fly fishing for finicky trout will know what you mean. Any slight variation in a fly pattern can lead to rejection ......

I knew that whites clued into color, speed and size but did not consider they would be "detail oriented" like trout. I don't have a ton of experience with whites but I guess it makes sense .....
