Nice walleye, are they always that dark. That one looks like a sauger.

Not a sauger, nope.:)
The 'eyes in Gregoire typically have always been a darker colour, yup.
Did they lift the moratorium ion them?
I thought it was still on?

Zero limit in Gregoire, most likely there will never be able to keep a Walleye out of that lake.

Unreal fishery if you know where to go. .. I have even caught 50 easy off the dock. Never any over 3.5lbs. Some really dark ones. I catch them 5-8feet

Haven't fished it for a few years but did steady for about 25 yeras.
NEVER got skunked!

It seemed a bit strange to us that when they were doing the survey, the guys were getting ready to leave when we were launching ( evening), and were gone when we got back in, every time we went out!
Of course, we were fishing pretty ;late, but even when the sun was out in the afternoon, the good fishermen that I assoicate never had a problem hooking walley in that lake.

The 13' dropoff can the key there, but many people I talk to do not know the finesse part of walley fishing so don't catch fish there.:thinking-006:

Thanks for the posting. Great memories of fishing that lake and jest skiing at the mouth of the fish ladders in the winter with Klipper. Small lake but had big fun......

I fish that lake lots, it was my home when I first moved to the Mac, and I use to love going there! I caught a 13.7lbs pike, an 8lb an 9lb pike icefishing, a handful of 5 lbs eyes, one that cleared 6 lbs and was 27" & an 8 lbs burbot ice fishing. That was throughout 07-10 seasons, Now I haven't seen a fish over 4 lbs in years! wtf happened? It seems all the big boys with there $50,000+ Wake boarding boats are always out there, it's a small lake, i personally don't see why a guy would drop that kinda cash on that kinda boat to go play on gregoire... It seems water quality has gone done maybe? I don't know... I'm no expert, I just find it frustrating cause we used to get some decent sized fish outta there, and now they are smaller and it seems we even get less these days....

Ok, I'm done ranting, That is all. Nice pics btw! Lol
