Got out to buck lake a couple weeks back and ran into lots of deer like I've never seen anywhere else in such abundance wow! Ventured all over around the outskirts of the lake and with not much happening I decided to head back into town by the launch and ended up catching three pike on a chartreuse rap. Ice was the crappiest I've seen along with rediculous flood water here n there. Up to 7" of slush water to walk through and set up in. Wish I knew where to find some walleye and perch action. Lol one day I'll find em:)http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20140110_085311_zps63f3473e.jpghttp://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20140110_085316_zps5f8cf907.jpghttp://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20140110_085320_zps091a131b.jpghttp://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20140110_085325_zps1f423362.jpghttp://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy271/holymolymacaroly/IMG_20140110_114943_zps204f2986.jpg

I used to live out by that area, actually went to highschool there. The deer are insane out there, everywhere you look. They are like stray cats out there LOL.

I could show you where to catch em in the summer, but have little ice time at buck.

was out there last weekend pretty slow but the weed bed straight out form the picknic area is a easy place to start for perch

Great pics! We have quite a few deer roaming around here too. The other day I was driving home from work and watched as little school kids just casually walked past a bunch of deer without even glancing over. Apparently they're just that used to them. I didn't know whether to be horrified that they didn't keep a cautious eye on the animals or impressed that these 8 & 9 year olds were smart enough not to approach or taunt them.

That's cool! They are probably just that used to them and were raised to know not to approach them forsure. I wish I grew up like that:) the last place I've been to which was like 10 years ago was in Waterton, right in the town. I seen about 20 all in a few blocks! Nice to see forsure though.

We've caught them in Buck Lake (south) but never any big enough to keep.
Even when I helped the PFGA guys pull nets, didn't see any walleye big enough. But the whites are huge....but tough to catch.

We've caught plenty of smaller eyes in the Northest bay by the park....mid way along the weeds on the north side.

Try the bay on the south east side of the lake.... Nice 5-6' bay that drops off into 15-16'.... Always pike walleye and burbot hanging around there....

And the deer ... Yes there everywhere :)... But good luck finding these mulies come hunting season in the bush :)http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y463/fishnafterwork/null_zps4771deeb.jpg
