So South shore cabins have cancelled the season and no cabins are going on the ice this year at driftpile. Supposedly the ice at Driftpile is in to rough a shape and the plug has been pulled on their season. Too bad as my trip has been cancelled next week.

Does anyone have any ice reports for Joussard area?

I spoke with the owner of Roadrunner Cabins in Joussard a few days ago and there are a bunch of shacks on the ice including 2 of their own. Pickup trucks were able to drive from shore to the shacks.

Maybe call Larsons or Roadrunner.... Driftpile is a bit to the east, maybe they have a big pressure ridge there or something.

Just got camp all set-up, easy truck access to the lake and no snow.

South shore got bought last year and is under new ownership .....sounds like this new owner is only up for fair weather.
Ice is really thick tones of shacks out at Joussard (South shore has put there shack out at Joussard for years now) No reason to not have shacks out......Maybe he would like to sell a shack lol.

I had my trip cancelled earlier in the year with SS but there is zero reason not to have shacks out now ...... probably the best access I have seen in years!! I would challenge him on not having shacks out ....tell him you took my booking the weather and access permits it so you better make it happen.

FYI I was out near Canyon Creek Sunday and the ice was too thick in places for my ION auger .....didn't think I would need the extension but I did!!

Thanks for the update on the conditions out there. I might have to try taking the kids out there sometime soon now that I know I can drive out.
