Hi there, been out fishin' a couple of times with not much luck save a few perch.

I am thinking of taking the wife out this weekend and would like to find someplace 1-1.5 hours from Edmonton (that isn't Wabamun) where we can set up the tent, see some fish down the hole and hopefully catch some fish.

I don't have any fancy gizmos like cameras or fish finders, just a junky tent and yer regular gear.

Does anybody have any recommendations? I know that everyone says this, but I will say the same, I am not looking for you to share your secret honey holes, just some information where I can get a start. (you can PM me if you like).

Much appreciated.

There are lots of whites to be had right in front of the main pier at Lac Ste Anne.

I seen a few 14-16" and one really nice jumbo on the camera about a week ago in 7' of water.

Gull lake would fit the bill. No flasher or camera required as you can site fish.

Just a reminder, burbot retention closes today I believe.

Knew that about burbot being closed tomorrow on Gull, never caught a burb before.

Thanks for all the advice, I may try one of those places.
