Has Chicakoo been pounded into late ice-season oblivion yet? Wondering if it is worth a shot or I should venture farther afield. Looking for a short-drive half day fish this weekend.

Was out two weekends ago all day long. Tried several hooks and bait set ups all over the lake, all I could see was muck and smell rotten eggs. Brutal.

When you smell sulphur (rotten egg smell) on a small pond/lake - it's a pretty good indicator the lake has been winterkilled - no need to stay all day. Pack it up and move on.
