Rat Cull!!

I don't care about the feral horses. I simply can not believe the calloused way the "native" Norwegian rats are being exterminated to keep Alberta rat free. I am contemplating starting a save-the-rats campaign here in the Edmonton region to stop this senseless slaughter. All the ranchers I talked to have no issues with rats and love to see them scampering and chewing around farm buildings.:)

I invited Fishing Mom over here a couple of summers ago to teacher her to weld.
I see she was able to mount that gun in place without it falling off.
I'll bet the base of that thing would pass any NDT examination.

I believe if we let the rat population get out of control we will see a dramatic decline in prime mouse habitat! There is no room for "wild rats" in our province! We must protect our native mice, shrews and moles!

Feral would imply somebody raised them and then let them escape. These are "wild rats" that have migrated here from around the world.

Maybe to maintain a healthy population we could have annual round up! You would have to buy a permit though and you must keep the rats you round up for 6 months, this to make sure people aren't just selling them to the french for profit!
