Eternal members

I thought I would open up a new thread rather than cluttering the one sending condolences on the death of Robin McDonald (Duffy) with a forum suggestion.

I'm a mod on a large (125,000 plus) forum were we recently designated a membership category of "Eternal Member".

That move was well received by the members, and I would suggest the same be appropriate here.

Too many have made significant contributions to the forum over the years, and memories fade of them with their passing.

Food for thought, and I hope enough support that the admins can make the change.

I didn't know Robin at all..but from what i have read on all the posts he seemed to be a pretty good Guy..this move to unban his name shows how much he was respected...very nice Alberta Bigbore.
My condolences go out to all his family and friends on AO as well as outside of the AO forum.

I never tangled with Duffy, never really spoke with him. His opinions and mine did not always match up and they were never hot button enough for me to wade in to discuss them.

I sincerely like this idea of eternal members and would gladly support this being applied to him. He was part of huge board, part of our outdoor community, and deserves to be recognized for it.
