Here are a couple of pics from it. I also posted a video "Pike with ADHD" I have been happy with it. Have never ran out of battery on the fishphone. My Iphone goes through the battery fast, IPAD is much better though.

I rigged mine up in a Dewalt box with two 12v 9amp batteries from Princess Auto for the Lowrance HDS 5 and have auxilary power for the camera and iphone if I need it. So far have only needed it for the Iphone!

I can't wait to try it in the summer!

Love mine and if I turn cell coverage off I get all say on my phone but I use my iPad in a life proof case and it is great. Would recommend one for sure.

Love mine, I run a 7" Android tablet for viewing/recording and I get several trips out of a charge.

Here are some videos I've shot recently...

The best part about this unti is you can "pepper" the lake with holes in a certain area and just hop hole to hole easily checking for structure, bottom composition and fish. Also if you fish tip ups this cam can be set right next to the hole and your phone/tablet w/you in a nice warm hut/truck!

The Android seems to do much better on the video than the IPAD or IPhone5! With the IPad it is very pixilated (is that a word).

Here is a video I posted, not near as clear as yours.

I found the same, I picked up a cheap 7" Android 4.1 tablet from eBay for around $40 and it does a respectable job. The cam only records in 240p if I remember correctly?

Does anyone use these for open water fishing? There's a spot I fish in the summer that I'm absolutely dying to have an underwater view of.

Haven't had mine long enough to do so but I'm dying to try. I have used my old Marcum vs380 from the boat and it worked great.

I actually have made a pole mount for mine to catch action from the boat. As well as a mount on my landing net to video that. Now to wait for open water!

Thanks everybody for the responses.
Has anyone tried it at larger depth? Say 10-15 m. Would it be comparable with 500ish cameras?

Post a picture of the pole mount if you have one ....... I was thinking about doing that as well using a telescopic painter's pole for open water season.

I might have to pick up an android device. I'm not sure why the iphone 5 is so crappy, but I was just wondering what model of tablet you were using? Do you think it matters what resolution the android has? Because we are not using the camera of the device, but the vexilar camera, not sure what spec would make the difference. It doesn't really list the record resolution from an external device.
Also wondering what software or app you used for playback. Tried my wife's Galaxy S3 and it wouldn't play back.

Thanks for your help,
ken

The device is just a generic 7" Android tablet off eBay (running OS 4.1 Jelly Bean). The captured video plays on mine through the built in video player app but looks better using VLC media player.

I use an ASUS INFINITY TF700 its a 10 inch android tablet or at times my Samsung S4 phone, I have used apple devices but they seem to produce lower quality recordings for some reason.
