what would these (ANGLER)pressure lakes could be if the 15850 KG Whitefish,1350KG Pike,200KG Walleye that was netted nov 18 of 2013 and the past years were still there? lf you don't believe look on the Ropin the web site and look at the fishery link:angry3:

Little to no difference.:)

That could be a 100 spawners and you think that makes little diff ? Why even bother with this thread, it will go no where as did the others. Just send e-mails to ESRD.

You think a 100 fish don't go out of there on a good weekend?

Did they reach the walleye quota?

They always reach walleye quota, that's big money. These fisherman aren't dumb, they keep nets raised until they almost reach white fish quotas then drop them to target walleye, pike & perch ! And on a good weekend yes they might get a 100 fish but good weekend are few and far between. Many anglers in the derby don't even get a keeper !

Travers was commercially fished once in the last decade. 2006 season. 400 lbs pike and 500 lbs Walleye. 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 Travers was not commercially fished. Get your facts straight.

Just google commercial fishing Alberta. This is this years season. Traverse reservoir - Nov-18 to 22 2013/2014. 15,850kg whitefish. 1,350kg pike. 200 kg walleye. So was it closed between 2006 and now ? I can't find that stated.

K, says it can be fished on request. Anyone see any data that it was actually fished(commercially)?:)

Also Habfan, there are area and depth restrictions on Travers when it actually is fished.

You do understand that's the quota not the actual amount taken right? Don't get me wrong, I am not for commercial netting of sensitive water bodies, I just hate misinformation.

Spend 25 dollars and submit FOIA(Freedom of information Act). Ask the proper questions and you will get all the answers you require. Travers is scheduled to fish each year but was never fished in the last decade except for 2006.

X2 on the misinformation. The fishery is shut down when any one of the quota's is met. As you can see by the numbers the netters have a vested interest in targeting Whites over the other two.

How did you find out that traverse was not netted from 2007 to 2013 ? I have seen them netting McGregor in the fall and I don't know why they wouldn't net Traverse since it's so close ! ESRD does not post that info. :)
