Southern Ab spring bear hunting ?

Anyone gone yet here in southern alberta ? If so what's the conditions like ?

Lots of snow in the porcupine hills. Haven't seen any bear activity yet. Should be soon. It's supposed to be warmer this week. The bears need a food source before you will see a lot of them. I usually start seeing more bears after the grass turns green.

Did they extend the spring bear season in the south? I heard rumblings that they were going to before I moved. It always seemed the season was closed before most of the bears were out.

This has been my experience as well, generally speaking.

The season now runs until the end of May. Much better than the previous closing of May 15th.
