Just bought one in .375 Ruger and with Hornady factory ammo will do 1"/100 yards, which is pretty good for a beast:evilgrin:. This is the first Ruger centerfire that I have owned, so far so good.

i considered it at a time, but handling it at the shop didn't really impress me... for some reason the bolt wasn't that smooth... i'm comparing to a remington 700 or even my old ruger m77

The Rugers are a great hunting rifle, one of the best, IMO.

My latest rifle, not a Hawkeye, but a M77MII LH SS in 30-06, has really impressed me with Federal 180 SP. The least expensive factory loading available. Consistently puts it's 1st 2 shots under 1/2", 3rd shot at 1-1 1/4", no waiting between shots. Didn't expect that till after the whole load development/bedding/floating/trigger routine...... if ever.:)

Lousy trigger though, the Hawkeyes are supposed to be better in that department.

If Ruger ever makes the aforementioned Alaskan in LH..... I will have one.

I have a 257 Roberts. sub MOA with Berger bullets. 1/2-3/4" at 100 3" at 400. That is about all this little guy is good for.

From what I'm hearing the Hawkeye's LC6 trigger is actually worse than the triggers on the MKII's.
Some are saying the LC stands for Lawyer Certified.

The Timney triggers for the MKII's will drop in and replace the LC6 apparently.

Outside of a trigger reminicent of pulling a coathanger through a bag full of rocks, they are a solid platform with some good features.
