I've been away from the shooting scene for a few years. Is there still a population of feral pigs?
Would like to give it a try. A .308 should do the trick.

Lots of pigs in alberta, they are Mostly nocturnal. Gotta find some land and permission.

A .308 should be way more than enough. Lots of pigs been taken by the lowly old .223. My personal favorite is a .35 rem.

I would really like to put one down with my bow. If anyone could give me pointers on where to look it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for your spot just someone to point me in the right direction.

I noticed that a lot of hunter will usually keep it quiet about their locations. Hell I would too, good eats.

There's a website that shows sightings and kills of wild boars...wild boar Alberta or something like that, I'm sure someone will come up with a link if Google doesn't work. But, I guess it's only as reliable as the guys who are entering the info...if someone wants to keep their honey hole a secret, it obviously won't be on there.

Here on the West Coast Ferrel Pigs have been an Urban Myth in the Harrison Valley for many years (30+) from my recollection.
But, the last several years there have been sightings in other parts of B.C. and until recently there has been no official mention by the Gubbermint in BC.
There is now a NBL no bag limit on these Pigs Gone Wild critters in BC.
And another from BC as well.....

I was wondering what the regulations says about hunting old boars? Are you allowed to hunt them at night? Or the same rule apply for hiring them, 1/2h sunrise to sunset?

You can't hunt anything at night....regardless of there being a bag limit or not, and further you cannot discharge a firearm at night....hunting with a firearm involves firearm discharge last time I checked :)

There is some great boar hunting by Lamont right now. You can see groups of crows following them in the trees.
