Noticed an ad in the Calgary paper by Govt. of Canada about boat license.

It stated that license expire after 10 years and you have to get a new one. I am referring to the boat license not the operator license.

I checked mine which is quite old and there is nothing about an expiry date so I am wondering if this is something new and mine is "grandfathered " in.

Are you talking about boat registration?

I got got with a 11 year old license, was suggested that I get it renewed before the new season... so I did

Old one did not have a expiry on it. but rules are rules, got the new one now so I am legal.

Besides it corrected with my up to date info.. :test:

Just spoke to the govt on this and was advised that it went into effect May 2012

Boats issued a license prior have no expiry date. No need to change unless info on license changes ie address change.
