I see that the new WSS catalogue has a lot of new offerings. One of which is the new Winchesters. I haven't had a chance to check them out and was wondering if anyone had. I see they list a Featherweight in 7-08, that ought to be a little sweety.

Just because WSS has it in their catalogue, does'nt mena there are to many of them up here.

From the buzz on US websites, even the American market is seeing only dribs and drabs of the Winchester offerings.

Time to chill and wait the applicable amount of time. usually anywhere from 9 to 48 months.

This is true for Browning as well.

Judging by what Winchester has put out in the last few years, I wouldn't bet the farm on any little sweeties!

Suspect they'll be a fine rifle, but I just wonder who in the hell is building them? Bob's Farm and Metal Works in Hicksville? They sure are behind schedule...

FN is building them. Maybe theyre busy with military stuff.

Handled one today, a Featherweight, at WSS. Nice rifle, a bit thick in the grip area for my liking, but seemed pretty well put together. Also handled an X-Bolt in .243 and preferred it to the 70. These new Brownings are nice!

Agreed, but that was then, and this is now and a lot has changed. New factory, new tooling and new people. From what I've read, they're supposed to be worhtwhile looking at, hence my question. Browning also comes out of the FN factory. Maybe. I'll take a trip and have a look see.
