Hi folks,
Looking for a medium or medium-heavy rod for pike fishing Alberta lakes.
Will be used casting heavier baits and trolling.

I have a hand full of cheaper rods and one medium-light St Croix Avid AVS70MLF2.

Since I have a quality medium-light rod, I'm inclined to buy a medium-heavy so I can cover the spectrum a little more effectively.

I like the St.Croix a lot, but would like to try something different.
Budget is $200 give or take a little.

Thanks!

I have a couple of Quantum Superlight (foam handle) 6'-6" 8-15 lb, that I use for pulling bouncers. I have had them for a few years now, and they have worked well for me. Also have a couple Shimano Crucial (cork) same length and line rating, also work well. All have the drop shot style handles and are in your price range.

Shimano Compre Muskie Rod - 7'-6" Med/Heavy Fast Action ........ that's the ticket. Lures up to 6 oz can be safely cast - most of the "medium heavy" rods out there are not rated to cast lures over 2oz.

This is a important feature.....if you want to cast serious hardware for serious pike.

Put on a Abu Garcia C4 level wind, and spool it up with 30lb power pro and you are the king !!!!!!!
