Howdy,
For the past few years my wife and I have been getting good use of two fishcat pontoon boats. We recently purchased a small lake lot west of Edmonton that came with an old 12' aluminum boat. It leaks a bit but we did get good use of it for the last part of the season and I enjoyed rowing it all over the lake . I liked the convenience of it but find it a bit much to man handle myself , throwing it in and out of the truck, so have been considering a 12' jon boat.
Any advantages to a jon boat vs a pontoon or 12' aluminum v. hull? From what I've been able to find out they are fairly light and have a wider hull. It also sounds like they are shallower so tend to swamp a bit easier than a v-hull.
I tend to stand up quite a bit while fly fishing and was wondering how stable they are.
Any pros or cons, models , brands, dealers of or any info you can provide on jon boats would be appreciated.
