If Newell is open CV must be ice free as well. Season no open till May 8 however.

Any updates on Crawling Valley or Travers Reservoir would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping the wind has opened both. Driving for 2 hours is a little much just to see if the ice is gone.

If Lake Newell which is 5 or 6 times the size of CV is ice free. then I am sure Crawling Valley is ice free and has been for a few weeks now.

In any case it will have boats on it come May 8 for sure. Same as Traverse even tho you can no longer keep any walleye at Traverse

I'll see you guys out there. Please do me a favor and stay out of my spot. I'll be the boat blasting motley crue bombing down the lake.

Docks are in. Marina is fantastic! Fishing not so much. Slow. Really slow. 1 wee little pike all day on Thursday and I fish there often. It needs a few weeks of warm weather like all of us!

My friend had great fishing for burbot from the shore on the opening day. Two of them pulled 7 in 6-8 lbs range. Really strange, I was not expecting them to be still active.

I picked up 2 walleye and 6 pike. Very slow out there.

Did well from shore today, 13 'eyes in total. Nothing of any size unfortunately.
