If I'm around I might drop by, but honestly, I was at the opening of the other Cabela's store and was sincerely underwhelmed, so I won't be going out of my way to attend :o

It'll be nice to have bait on this end of the city at least :)

Never went to the last one, won't be attending this one. Better things to do like go fishing, drink some beers and listen to some tunes.

Got a post card in the mail for an invite to attend a pre opening event. Since it is accross the street I will check it out.

The "pre-opening" at the South side location was a gong show. Busier than a Boxing Day sale but without the deals.

I'll be there. The arrow will cut the ribbon at 11am.

Who is shooting it? Fixed or mechanical? I would suggest a "turkey taker" or a turkey guillotine" for maximum cutting diameter :)

Yesterday? My card says May 21st noon till 9pm. Also got a flyer in the mail yesterday. Anyone find a good deal in it? Even though the Windermere store is a few minutes away from my house, I'll still check out the new store.

I'm going to head in there sometime tomorrow but it definitely won't be for the freebies that they give out to the first 50 customers. I saw something in the flyer that caught my eye but it's not worth bouncing off of people for a couple of hours to get it. I don't do well with crowds so if it's packed I'll be turning around.

Might be best to wait for evening or the next day.

Never thought about the crowds... I don't like em to.

went to the pre-opening on the 19th. had an invite for myself and a buddy. my plan was to be the first one to spend a dollar in the new store, but there was allready a long line-up, so gave invite to my buddy and went home to watch hockey game. he picked up a trail cam for 25% off but didn't think it was any big deal. didn't give out any free hats or shirts as i was expecting.

Was it packed for the pre-opening? I'm thinking that it won't be as busy as like the other store opening since this is our second store.

Yesterday's pre opening was not packed at all! Picked up
A couple moultrie d444 trailcams for a $100 a piece. Looks like they have a better fishing section than the south side!

Too crowded. Swear aisles are narrower. No deals really.
Found a few things that were more expensive than other stores.$169 SKS's though.

Seems like the camping and fishing side was bigger on the north side vs the south side. But maybe it's just because I never go to the fishing/camping side on the south side.

You would have to drug me asleep and carry me in before I go their. getting it stuck up your ying yang is not my idea of shopping.Lots of good dealers in Canada beside those big corps that have to meet their QE numbers 4 times a year to keep the fat cats on wall street rolling.

Tried it opening day.
What a zoo.
Went yesterday and got a new shotty and some bulk 22 and a couple combination trigger locks for my sidearms.
Way smaller on the inside than the south store.

Nothin special just handier for me cause its in the north end.

I have a medical appointment in Edmonton next Thursday and was planning on hitting one of the Cabela's- most likely the new one as it's close to where I have to go. I was just wondering what the selection for Under Armour shorts, and Under Armour products is like at the North store? I'm just pondering if I should gamble to see what is in stock so I can browse and compare, or just order specifically what I want online.

Looks like there are 82 retail locations that sell underarmour products in edmonton according to the UA store locator.

Yes, I'm aware many stores carry Under Armour products but the shorts I'm looking for (cargo series, either Ironside, Guide, or Fishing) I have only ever seen at Cabela's. I'm not sure why they're so hard to find.

under armounr is over rated. Try icebreaker .... outstanding stuff and worth the price. I wear it all the time

You obviously didn't follow last year's "shooting high from treestand with a recurve thread" .... that was a fun learning experience.
