Awesome fish. Hope to get out tomorrow.

Anyone know if the launch at the Suffield pumps is useable after last years flood?

good god that's a hell of a season opener. incredible hog man, what kinda gear did you use on that hog? line rod and time to bring it in?

Simple slip sinker and a minnow, store didn't have any worms... I've got a heavy shimano rod and reel combo with 30lb fireline on it that helped out!! I was all by myself when I hooked it so I had to call a buddy to get down there on short notice to come and snap some pics. About a 20 min battle, took off on me a few times, then I just sat him there in there current with the line tight waiting for Jason to get there and take some pics!!

cool man i am currently still using mono and this year i spooled with 30lb big game and hope it holds up. i have not used any fireline or any type of braid yet and might try it this year since i bought a few spools of the braid.

Great fish, haven't made it down to the river yet, I'am surprised how much green growth there is on the shore already.

Jacenbeers and I were out yesterday and today. Caught lots of suckers, a burb, and a mooneye. We were at the forks.

Access is great. Tons of people at the Forks. We asked a guy named Dusty from Taber if we could fish next to him and he was kind enough to let us hang out for the day yesterday. Come down after May long weekend and it will be better.

You guys got some nice looking ones there as well, I find the forks to be way to over crowded now, not like it used to be. Only a five minute drive from my house to some good sturgeon holes, rather than an hour out to the forks.

Forks wasnt too bad this weekend, lots of people on the beaches, only 3 or 4 boats out at a time so it wasnt crowded on the river. got to watch a guy break a rod on a sturgeon, always entertaining :sHa_shakeshout: had a couple almost jump into the boat too. they dropped the river over a foot to get ready for the runoff, going to be a lot of water coming down again this year.
