Has checkpoint Charlie in Edmonton closed up shop? I've stopped by during their business hours but they've been closed, the phone goes unanswered and the voicemail box is closed. Does anyone know anything?

They may be doing inventory. The same thing happened when Brian did inventory at Drop Zone, no notice at all and no voice mail. I don't see it as a big loss if they are closed now, their stuff was overpriced and nothing really did perform all that well. There are better options out there IMO.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are closed. Never even heard of them.

His listed prices are high but he has given me some good deals and has a few unique items that I have been unable to find anywhere else in the city.

last i heard they were having troubles finding people to sew the gear.

apart from that, excessive prices and mediocre gear (the "improved" bdu pant anyone?) makes its very hard to pay the bills, which I am sure are huge given the new location, probably doesn't help keep the doors open.

I used a pack from Drop Zone at work. 4 years of hard use...outstanding.
Not a stitch or zipper out of place and I overstuffed that thing with a lot of weight.
I need to get some more of whatever the webbing snaps are called though.
