I am going to Montego Bay near the end of February and want to go fishing for the big stuff, marlin, sails, wahoo, mahi mahi etc.
Does anybody know a decent charter company or have experience fishing out of Montego Bay......
They have Tarpon there also ive been told and that would be fun as well.

Kent,
I don't mean to hijack your thread but my wife and I spent three weeks in Jamaica last year. I didn't fish at all, but we made a few cool trips that you may want to do.
We stayed at the Grand Lido Braco resort which is just outside Ocho Rios.
Trips to take in:
1) Dunns river falls in Ocho Rios. Great half day trip walking right up the falls. Take some beach sandals though for the water. http://www.dunnsriverfallsja.com/about_us_link.htm

2) Rick's cafe in Negril is UNREAL at sunset. Well worth the trip! Full day if you tour Negril prior to the afternoon sunset.

3) Dragon Bay Hotel where the Tom cruise movie Cocktail was filmed.

4) Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios was worth the trip.

Lot's of other neat tours but we remember these the most.

Have a great trip. I would go there over and over again!!

Thanks for the info Shooter,
We will definatley give those tours a look,
first time to Jamaica and it always helps to get some reviews before you go,
especially from fellow Canadians,

Will post a review when we get back and hopefully with some pics of a drunken arm busting brawl with a monster Marlin........

x2 on the tours! i was at the sandals in whitehouse last april. i had huge hopes of crazy fishing. it was terrible! i had a bunch of bone flies tied for me, and i dragged all of my sal****er fly gear with me because the website listed a full day bonefishing excursion for $180 when i got to the tour desk, they had no idea what i was talking about. they told me that there was a deep sea fishing excursion that departs right from the resort with wonderfull fishing. they are catching lots of fish and its only $120 for 4 hours. done...... i got on the boat and we got out a couple of miles and the capt. said they have only seen a few fish in the last few weeks! sooooooooo. be carefull of what you are told. if you can find someone(not too sketched out) to take you fishing on the black river it is stacked with small tarpon 20 to 40 lb range. i couldn't find anyone that didn't weird me out to take me, so the wife said no! i hope that your trip is way better than mine. good luck
