Actual report:

http://www.cna.org/sites/default/files/MAB_2014.pdf

Seven years ago the USA military issued their first assessment of what climate change would mean for all branches of service.

Now they are even more concerned.

Maybe the rest of us should read and heed.

Specifically they call it a threat multiplier.

BTW, take a look at the board members. They include Secretary of Defense from both parties, as well as a number of other qualified individuals.

For them there is no more question of if, but of what to do now.

Some of us on this board should consider learning from them.

Ha.

“There is no one in more pursuit of publicity than a retired military officer,” he said of the report’s authors. “I look back wistfully at the days of the Cold War. Now you have people who are mentally imbalanced, with the ability to deploy a nuclear weapon. For anyone to say that any type of global warming is anywhere close to the threat that we have with crazy people running around with nuclear weapons, it shows how desperate they are to get the public to buy this.”

That is a quote from the same link.

Now having pasted that........the military makes plans for everything. Planners plan for contingencies and plan for what may occur if [4^(1/2)]^2 = 4^[(1/2)(2)] = 4^1 = 4

Having a plan is good. Lots of plans never see the light of day because the scenario that the plan is created for...............never plays out. Your comment about some of us learning from them is a good but the real take-away from that is HAVE A PLAN.

For them there is no more question of if, but of what to do now.

No more question of it? Is like saying nuff said. All the stuff going on now has been going on for decades.........let alone the stuff being predicted.

Some bureaucrat wants a plan for a potential future engagement and a horde of staff officers start planning.......that's all this article is about.......in my experience.

Wonder if you read the actual report?

I did provide a link to it.

I wonder if AO would be interested in starting a category "Agendas". I can think of a few contributors to this site that could fill it up daily as 95% of their posts would align with it...

I opened up the 5.8 mb .pdf. Did I read it all? No. I scanned it quickly. It didn't hold my attention...

Are you sure you want to use this argument? The US military also has a plan for Zombies, see link. So now we should believe in Zombies?
