No offence, and I'm not a cat hater ... but I would never expect that out of a cat! :scared0015:

Witnessed something similar when a dog walked into a house and was immediately attacked by an 18 month old mother whose newborn kittens were sleeping in a box. She chased the dog round and round me in the living room till the dog remembered the still open door. Mommy cat followed dog onto the lawn and dog kept on running.

Odd thing is that the dog and cat knew each other (didn't live in same house though) and were actually good friends. The look on the dog's face was one of great surprise followed by 'holy smokes I gotta get out of here NOW.'

This happened at the next door neighbour's place.

Cat can be superprotective. No more play fights at our home that's for sure. He thinks it's real.

Once again I think I'm the only one not surprised. I grew up with cats and know just how protective and gutsy they can be.

It's not entirely unheard of for a cat to be dog aggressive. My dad's cat has stalked and went after my pitbull a few times but fortunately I had an eye on him and stopped it in short order. My dog would think the cat is playing and probably end up mangled.
