Is anyone aware of any RC clubs or groups in the greater Edmonton area or west of Edmonton?
Our local summer event group is attempting to grow and expand their attractions for their summer event. It has been suggested that they add an RC event because it interests so many people, people of any age can participate, gender is not an issue and costs can be kept to a reasonable level.
No one in the summer event group has any awareness of what RC's may need for infrastructure or what may attract RC people to attend and participate.
ie. a race track for cars, a hill climb for 4 wheel drives or what ?? for helios' or planes?
At this point the discussion is put on a demo for the general population to gauge interest and if it goes well actually seek sponsors and put on money races next year. If things develop well then consideration for building permanent infrastructure has been discussed.
Personally I see this as a great opportunity for RC to show off their sport, a super way for youth and adults to interact, something new and different at a summer event and it won't break the bank for anyone involved.
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Dave
