Just wondering what this plastic arm is that is mounted to the transom of a ski boat. The arm does not turn up or down too easily.

Thanks

looks like what is left of a sonar the plastic clip further up is where the wire was attached

So I'm wanting to mount my transducer, is that where it should be? Am I safe to just drill out the pivot and mount my own transducer there?

that is 100% the water pickup for the speedo.

So if that is the original speedometer, it shouldnt hurt to drill out the pivot for the transducer, correct?
It has a Yamaha F115 O/B which should have the speedometer built in?

nope not built in and yes speedo :) . Only reason you would drill that out is if you dont want it, personally I wouldnt.

if you have a fish finder with GPs, that will give you your speed as well

Yes the speedo is on the leg of your Yamaha, little hole in the front side. The transducer has to be mounted in a spot that will not be in a cavitation area of transom or transducer loses bottom at higher speeds & will not show depth. Just google it if you don't have mounting instructions
