So while fishing today almost every cast I had a large school of small like 1-3 inch perch following my hook. I was using large floating perch from rapala. The first couple retrieves I had figured I snagged the perch as once I could see the hook the perch would be on there side. After watching closely noticed the perch were attempting to spawn with my hook. Almost every retrieve when the hook came to a brief stop at the side of the boat the perch would go on there sides and shake and the water would go white(milky). I assume my 6-8" lure was looking like a good looking female perch. I assume this is why the pike fishing was slower as the perch were in large numbers and still spawning. Water temp was 48-52 ish around the lake. Anyways thought it was kinda neat to see. Makes me not wanna swim in the water knowing what goes on in there :thinking-006:
