Blackfoot Grazing Area waterfowling

I was just wondering if anyone has done any duck or goose hunting in the blackfoot grazing area. Heard about it on another thread. Just looking for some info on this area. I live north a few hours and all our water holes are pretty much froze up. Wondering since it seems youhave to walk in there does anyone have any good info on decent spots to do some waterfowel hunting. Water or field doesn't matter. Appreciate any info. Thanks

It's been my understanding that the Blackfoot ponds are frozen or pretty close these days; has anyone been out there in the past few days to confirm?

Without any crop fields, I think your only bet for waterfowl is on the water. If it's not frozen, I certainly enjoy hunting ducks there. Just don't forget to pick up your discharge permit (and don't leave it for the day you plan to go; the guys are only in at certain times on certain days, best to call ahead and leave a message for them to call you back).

The ducks don't hang out in the fields in the area? Also the map I found on the internet I found hard to read. I suppose if I phone I can go pick one up or have one mailed to me? also is there a good spot to start at. Seems like a fairly big area for walking in.

So if I don't seem that knowledgable its my first year duck hunting, and I'm hooked for life now!!!!!

That place is located in the middle of some of the best waterfowling in the province, and surrounded by harvested fields with plenty of water and big enough water to provide night roosting, why would anyone want to do a walk in hunt there? Just wondering is all. I would rather shoot some water near a feeding field than sit in that park and have to walk the gear in. I would suggest spotting within a half our of the place and you will be better off I think, and you don't have to get the discharge thing taken care of or sit through the speel, but thats just me, happy hunting.
