Does anyone have a topo map with elevation marks they can post so I can see where not to run my boat? I'd like to go out on the lake but I've heard of a few people taking out their leg on that lake.

I believe www.anglersatlas.com has a map of the lake.

In search just type in rock island lake. Do not put Alberta in. Will bring up all lakes with that name. Scroll down page, hilite rock island lake, Alberta and there it is. If water is not too high you will see the birds sitting on the north rock island but be forewarned there is another one south of that one and be very careful going between them. Will be up there June 6th weekend.

Davey boy posted while I was typing.

I would use that map as a starting point. There is a lot more structure, some of it shallow depending on water level, than that.

I always use caution when running that body of water and I've been there several times.

Just got home from a weekend at rock island. Been going for the last four years and have never had a problem with rocks. The two islands at the north end of the lake are the only two places I've noticed anything and they are hard to miss.
