want to say a very big thank you to The Fishin Hole, as well as Terry and Mike for making sure I have enough worms to tag sturgeon all season long and enough hooks that I wont run out any time soon! :sHa_shakeshout: also thank you to The Fisherman Guy for picking them up in the big city and dropping them off for me. Great bunch of people. Been an interesting season so far, its slowed way down from the first week, but Ive managed to catch 46 so far with the biggest being 59 1/4 inches. So far the repeats are only about 10 percent of the total fish Ive handled. Not sure which is the highlight of this weekend, slow as it was. I caught a 27 inch walleye and it actually jumped a couple feet in the air just like a sturgeon when I set the hook, thats definitely a first for me! Second or maybe first was after sitting for almost 8 hours with not much going on on Friday I hooked 3 sturgeon back to back, a 53 1/2 incher, a 54 1/2 incher, and my best so far this season at 59 1/4 inches. Lost a couple Saturday, but got to hand the rod to Hacmans wife so she could experience the amazing power of the big fish, it managed to break the 50 pound braid, so Im pretty certain it was better than 5 feet since I saw it jump one time as well. Its so awesome to see the look on someones face the first time they feel that power!
a few pics
this fish had been previously tagged with a floy tag, the fin was very red and inflamed so i cut the tag off so it could have a chance to heal. I dont put these tags in anymore, I dont like the way they seem to take forever to heal if ever.

she had also been attacked when small, the tip of her nose was a bit deformed, and she only had 3 barbels instead of the usual 4.

Wayne, I believe what you are doing is for the benefit of everyone and want to personally say thanks for going above and beyond as a fisher person :).

With a little luck, in 100 years from now, the next generation will have a better understanding and appreciation for this specie.

Passing off your rod like that on a painfully slow day, not sure if I would have done the same. She ended up catching 5 species this weekend. Thanks again!
