Hey there, i was out at a gravle pit today while working:D, and decided to take a couple shots from my 243. At 100yards im bang on, at 200yards i never aimed no more than 3in above the target maybe less and was bang on again. Two shots at 200. I was using a pile of logs to shot off of. Was it just luck that i hit the target at 200?? Sure surprized me, i thought i would have had to aim higher to hit it.

Not luck lmao.
I have a remington 700 .243.I believe that with 100 gr ammo if you sight dead on at 100 yards 1t will only be 1.5 inches low at 200. I have sighted mine 1 inch high at 100 so I just shoot flat up to 200 yards.:D

Thanks, thats pretty cool. I didn't realize this little gun would shoot so flat.
Thanks again.

Well, it's a small diameter bullet coming out of a reformed .308 case. You'd be surprised what they can do. Mine seems to be able to take warmer than book max loads, and these were bullet specific loads very carefully developed, and it'll push a 95 CT at 3150 fps no problem. With the right powder, well over the 4000 fps mark for a 55 gr CT S'Tip, though I don't load them that fast. The 95 at that speed is pretty effective on deer and flat shooting. Lots of fun and devastating on coyotes with the 55's.

I had a 243 in a 700 model heavy barrel that would split holes at 200. I rarely used it, but part of me is still kicking myself for parting with it simply due to the reliable accuracy.
