can anyone tell me about bassano?

hi fellow members. i might be going to bassano AB off and on for the next 6 months. never been there. can anyone tell me what the fishing is like there? i see on the map that lake newell is close, and it looks like some small river goes near it. might be going there on monday and tuesday to check it out, but any info. you guys can give me would be great.
one thing that worries me is that it looks like there are no trees in that part of the province. i like trees. lol

You're in luck! Bassano is home to Crawling Valley Reservoir. I caught this 25in walleye off shore last Sunday there.

Lake Newell is also quite close.

The Bow river & Bassano dam are very close to town. Great fishing. Enjoy.

Crawling Valley like jhutter said is minutes away and Newell is about 1/2 hour away......can't go wrong at either.
