Cold Lake Weekend (pic heavy)

So we finally got out on Cold Lake in the open water. Viral Overide, his father and myself left home Saturday afternoon and went and set up camp in the provincial park. I did manage a morning of walleye and pike fishing at Ste Anne Saturday morning before the trip too.

We got out late evening and set up the trailer and got the boat ready for the water Saturday morning.

Went to bed early and got up at 5am for some breakfast

Then down to the launch and into the water we went.

Got the gear down and started to enjoy the day.

Then back to shore for lunch and clean the fish for supper.

After lunch, just Viral and I went out and his dad stayed back at camp. He did just fly in from Taiwan on Wednesday and is still jet lagged.

We tried a new spot and got into them right quick again.

Then we hit shore quick to pick up PikeHunter1989 and get him out on the open water in search of his first summer laker. It didn't take too long once we got the gear down again.

Then back to camp where Viral whipped up some tasty morsels of Lake Trout and dinner was served.

What an awesome trip it was. Already looking forward to another trip up as soon as possible. It was our first time using the down riggers and everything went fairly smooth. His dad had a blast and can't wait to tell his friends on the other side of the world about his experience.

We went out Monday early and had a few bites but didn't hook up. We had to head to shore early because we were running low on fuel and didn't want to have to use the Minn Kota to get across Cold Lake. Packed up and headed for home. What a trip it was.

Dad had a blast and cant stop talking about it. So far the picts have reached, Taiwan, China, Manchester, London, Vernon, Fernie, Vancouver, Banff, San Francisco, and Portland.

Oh and Scott fixed my leaky tire, switched a fuse, did all the boat wiring, switch panel, removed a engine mount that knocked a hole in my motor, fixe his fridge, realigned my transducer...all while drinking beer.

Alex, hes just plain fun...

Scotts handy, he fixes stuff. I m Asian...I cook stuff, Alex is a ninja. And best of all...old timer Dad (can you believe he's 85?) came out for some great memories!

We all slay fish...end of story LOL.:sHa_shakeshout:
