Wanted to try my hand at catching a sturgeon fished for them before but never landed one. I found out there is a launch near Drayton so that would be the closest place to launch the boat, but are there sturgeon that far up the river? My guess is that there are sturgeon around there but is the fishing good enough to bother or should I go down to Devon and launch?

There are several places around DV with sturg, including right at the bridge on 39 just upstream around the corner in the big eddy. Fish and feathers checks regularily. We fish with jetboats from DV to Genesse mostly, I live 5 min. from Berrymore so you could say I am local. You can PM me for more info:sign0111:

Bait ban upstream of bridge.
