Has anyone else seen a walleye where the yellow from the sides also covered the entire belly?

Certainly have not. What lake/river did you catch that guy in?

I have seen some in irrigational canals that have yellow all the way around but that one in particular is extremely colorful.

Yup, but that one is pretty neat!

Seen a bit lighter at Calling Lake a few times, but yes all way around to the belly.

Where did you catch that one?

Yes, hence the name yellow pickerel.

Looks like your picture has been edited for vibrance and saturation to emphasize the coloration.

This is why the blues are glowing as well.

Huh where do you see the blues glowing? I've caught really yellow walleyes before just not with the yellow on the belly like that. It's definitely not shopped

Boat is actually blue as in the picture no filters or enhancers were used,
and the original intent was to see if any other fisherman had seen one like this or similar. If you think I am being petty..... well I have been called worse things. :)

I don't think you're being petty.

Tons of guys enhance the colour in their photos.

I don't doubt the extent of yellow colouration on your pickerel. It is common in certain water bodies.

I thought it was odd when I started catching walleye here that they were so often silver/colourless.

I like the yellow ones, reminds me of my youth.

It is common in really muddy weedy water. I have caught meny in northren ontario like that in really shallow weedy water.

over generations... fish in a certain body of water will have color adaptations to that lakes environment.

I would agree but we also caught a ton more with no belly color like in the pic. The rest had a normal white belly.

Fish can change their colour in a matter of weeks.

Doesn't require generations at all.

Too much sun tanning for that one.

I've caught blue ones too! And if you're wearing a white shirt it'll rub off and stain your shirt.

I caught a couple that were very yellow like that last summer from a lake in northern Sask. The water was really tea stained.

I'll try to dig up a couple pics :)

It's a yellow belly ,lots of walleye like that, dark belly ,white belly, white and yellow, blue walleye dark belly, light green with pure white, pale green and bright green, walleyes depending on the lake ,colour of water will come in many colours and type of rock in the lake or mud etc.

I believe many of you have caught walleyes of many different shades but the underside is still relatively white, that fish is the same color all the way around ? That is very unique !
