With the headline, "It's time for a conservative global warming agenda", the National Review, a very conservative magazine says it's time for conservatives to act on climate change.

From the article (http://www.nationalreview.com/article/381895/its-time-conservative-global-warming-agenda-eli-lehrer):

While many on the environmental left tend to overstate their case, there’s little doubt that the climate is changing and that human activity plays a major role in this shift. In fact, not even those conservatives whom the left unfairly tars as “deniers” dispute that the Earth has gotten warmer or that a buildup of greenhouse gases traps heat energy. (Editorial comment: guess the magazine has not seen AO members on this one)

It’s not inconceivable that climate change could have some positive impacts, like fewer deaths from cold. But negative consequences likely will outweigh positive ones by a large margin.

Many AO members will be relieved that the same talking points SDF and others make on here are reflected in the comment section.

Nevertheless, the argument that the magazine makes is that it is time conservative ways of fighting climate change need to be advanced, rather then denying the issue.

What do you think the "CC" in "IPCC" stands for?

It's been around since 1988.

You know, like 26 years.

Yeah, but since they realized that global warming was a hoax, the majority started using the term "Climate Change". Maybe if they have enough darts to throw they'll get one to stick in.

Ummm, I only saw one name attached to that article. I see that your lack of understanding of science extends into the field of journalism as well.

You do realize that when Lorne Gunter writes an opinion piece in the Edmonton Journal for example decrying gun registration...that is not how the "Edmonton Journal" feels right?

You see, what happens when a real news magazine discusses ideas is they discuss all ideas, and publish all ideas. Unlike say a bunch of brain dead zombies at the UN who surround themselves with like minded sycophants to backslap each others inane chatter when they're not touching babies or cheering the hacking off, of villagers limbs.

Look, here's what the National Review "really" thinks about climate change...in this humourous video on FAKE climate change. http://www.nationalreview.com/planet-gore/379664/andrew-klavan-takes-fake-climate-change-greg-pollowitz

In fact National Review has a whole section called "Planet Gore" where they consistently rebuke Gore and his accolytes. http://www.nationalreview.com/planet-gore

Nice try though. You found ONE conservative that wants to use climate change to further the conservative agenda.

There are a couple of other conservatives.

Me would be one.

But more importantly, a real star conservative, Preston Manning, for another. He even went as far as endorsing a carbon tax (http://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/preston-manning-on-putting-a-price-on-carbon/). And reiterated it here (http://www.vancouverobserver.com/blogs/earthmatters/preston-manning-and-jeffrey-simpson-concur-carbon-should-have-price).

Thinking conservatives don't put their heads in the sand. As Manning says in this article (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/preston-manning-proselytizer-of-science/article4353123/), "Science explains what is going on."

But then the brain trust here on AO has decided that those scientists are only in it for the grant money, and will skew studies etc. etc. etc.

So the fact that the so called climate is constantly changing and in some cases

For the worse ( the worse part has been going on forever ) . That man

Is primarily responsible for this occurrence ......cause lots of science

Say it isn't so.

I know saving the planet makes some people feel all special .....I feel
All warm and fuzzy when I take out that itsy bitsy bag of landfill bound
Garbage .....followed by that huge container of recyclables .
I feel even better when I yell at my neighbour who has no recycling
Killer ! killer ! Killer! My wife has told them I have Tourettes .
