watching the parade on TV is still better than not seeing it at all, and if you record it , then you can fast forward all the boring parts/commercials .
but until they invent " Scent-O-Rama " , for the TVs ( one needs to be able to experience the fragrance of road apples etc to truly appreciate the fine qualities of a live parade ), they will never be the true feeling of being there .

My best memories of the parade , were as a young boy , probably the late
60's , Dad brought a step ladder with us . and we were early enough to get rate up front , he set up the ladder in front of a lamp pole ( I , in later years , found out that was so we didn't block any budies view ) and I and my three sisters sat on the steps of the ladder in order of our age/size. Prefect front row seat. Oh ya ! Lets not forget that crapy blue cowboy hat with the whistle that I just had to have. :sHa_shakeshout:

If it is true that the floods in southern Alberta were because of Jesus crying over all of these pride parades, then Toronto better start stocking up on sand bags.

The best parades ended in the late sixties and early seventies.

After that it was all down hill.

The same for the Chuck wagon races.

Nothing more than a dog and pony show today. The Calgary Stumpede. So bad that you had to open the bars at 7 a.m. My goodness.

Was Scotty, his dogs, and his sheep at least in the parade?

Yey!!!Easy there bad kitty.

My nephew and his big Willy are in the Stampede parade, and for those who miss him he will be in the Coronation Rodeo parade tomorrow.
Of Willy is his giant steer.
tomoorow happens to be my grand daughter's birthday. She lives in Coronation and I think it mighty fine of the town to have a parde and rodeo to celebrate. It passes her house, and as a matter of interest she will be on one the floats. When I asked if it was a root beer float, she suggested I was Goofy.:sHa_shakeshout:

YEA, and what the hells wrong with that , l have a 60 inch smart , helleva better seat then sittin out in the heat amongst a crowd of smellies and rudies standing in front of you, l even had me own stampede breakfast on the couch, every scene was like l was standing beside them, so dont know where your coming from.

I even put some horse poop in Jimboy's furnace air intake to add to the realism, when the street sweepers drove by I atomized even more poop and blew it in with a fan.

I think he's saying watching a parade on TV is like watching porn if your not involved in real life what is the sence.

That steer was impressive, what does that mastadon tip the scales at? I noted to my wife that the fellow riding that beast had just 'out-manlied' every other guy in the parade. A bit before that critter mosey'd along there was a two horse team where the horse on the right was misbehaving, the chuck wagon driver (or whatever conveyance it was) stopped and got off to adjust its tack and discipline it a bit, when they started back up it tried veering into the crowd, the large Indo-Canadian group that it was intent on crushing got quite the scare before the drivers steering and the second horse in the team corrected their course. I was imagining that same group was on a hair trigger to flee when big Willy passed by
