Fence cost

Hey folks,

I need some wisdom here.

I'm looking to get a fence built. I'm going to have someone else (contractor) do it for me (no time and too much to do).

Any idea what kind of rate per linear foot I should be looking at? 25? 30? 40?

Nothing fancy, 6 feet tall, 1x6 treated boards on both sides, 4x6 posts, screws not nails. No cedar.

Got a quote for 40 bucks a foot, I thought it was high. I worked the cost of the materials out to 12.50 a foot.

That'd be high in the Edmonton area. I think that you should be able to find someone to do it for about $30/foot. A lot depends on the demand up in Athabasca though.

True, there is some demand, but nothing crazy. This is the first quote, so I'm seeking others. I too was thinking around 30. I could stomach 35 realizing the way things are in this province.
