Perch fishing in Edmonton?

I think I'm going to target some Perch specifically. My plan is to fish the margins with float and worms, but I may also spin fish. Any good places to fish in Edmonton and what are the most productive set ups?

Perch can be found in shallows on Gull & Wabamun as well as Cross Lake. There's likely a few older threads on A/O with some more options.

In Edmonton , Cardiff lake/ pond has perch/trout you can catch from shore !

I would also say Gull Lake or Cross. Another option might be Long lake but that lake is strange. Sometimes perch are very hard to catch there but you have a better chance of catching a bigger one at Long. Hope this helps.

Nope, it's winterkilled every year since 2010. No perch since fall of 2010. I live very close - fished it yesterday. Same for both morinville ponds. Just this years stocked rainbows

Dukes - a lot of the smaller ponds that had perch, have winterkilled in the last few years. Gull is likely your best bet.

Might have to travel down there for fly fishing trial and loads of errors. I hear large sculpin patterns work for perch.

My understanding was that the last severe winterkill at Spring Lake pretty much eradicated the perch.

After fishing Spring many times last Fall, this Spring and Summer I've seen no sign of any perch.

Praise the Lord! They've been eradicated!

no parking at spring lake and hasse lake has never had two pounders ...not to mention the only thing youll catch there Is a disease lol its dead and grossly full of bird poop
