I'm looking to have a little 'manventure' with my two young sons. We want to fish Crowsnest Lake for a couple of days and tent it nearby. Any good suggestions for a tent friendly place to stay that is close to the lake?

How close do you want to be there is a Chinook lake campground that has some great tenting areas it a 5-10 min drive to the lake and there is a little lake there to fish. Also don't forget to check out the fish hatchery on your to chinook lake. Depending on the age of your sons the Bellevue mine tour is a must.

There is random camping at the adjacent Emerald lake.

Slightly further west there is camping at Island lake.... The hatchery released their big old spawners in there this spring, so that could be a bit of fun for you.

Crowsnest is a tough lake to connect with good fish.

They are there mind u.

Watch the rail line for road kills. It'll bring griz in to feed. Neat viewing.

Like Off In The bushes said Chinook (also known as Allison) Lake is a great Lake to take the kids. It gets stocked on a regular basis--like several times a year--and the kids can catch fish all day long. Also a few very nice campsites right by the lake.
