If its anything like the puked out 3.7 bluetec failure of a few years ago just stick with the hemi. Mine is a 2013 1500 and I get a comfy 19 mpg in town and 25 on the highway. With an 8500 lb 5th wheel I still get 18 mpg out into the mountains doing the speed limit the whole way. Just don't use petro can premium any more.

Lots of torque in those diesels. I'd like to see some real world number too.

Diesel used to have a good advantage in price now it's about the same. What does the diesel option cost ?
Just ribbin' ya Ali, we've had this discussion before.
I believe that eco diesel is a $5000 option so your still gotta do a pile of drivin' for it to make any sort financial sense.

You can buy a lot of gas for $5000.
It would take a long time to break even. But it's nice to see a diesel option In a half ton again.

I just picked one up last week. I have not drove it much yet. From Red Deer to Edmonton it averaged 8.2L /100. In the city driving it has moved up to 10.5 L/100. So far I'm happy with my purchase.

I just dont see the point of a diesel in a 1/2 ton. What can you legally haul or pull that would require a diesel?Just sayin.

I believe it's more for fuel mileage than pulling power.

The numbers are actually closer to equal than I thought they would be.

If you go over to rv.net and check the forums there is a pretty good one about the eco and what people are getting towing and non.

Numbers look good, and as expected, :happy0034:
Are you resetting the computer between each trip???
8.2 to edmonton, in the city it moved up to 10.5L/100. Did you reset it when you got to the city, or did have the 8.2L/100 data still in the computer. (assuming your figures are off the computer).
