If you were forced to only use one lure or hook for the rest of your life, what would it be?
myself, im torn between a white jig and a plain j hook. Probably the jig as some waters have bait bans. Ya, the white jig.

Probably a 1/4 to 3/8 oz spoon in either a red and white or a five of diamonds pattern.

Although I seldom use it, I would have to agree that a white jig would be my one lure arsenal

To many sexier options in my tackle box, however none would match the white jig on their own

Easy white jig.

Can it be different sizes or only one size?

White jig or good ole 5 of diamonds for me as far as versatility. I don't use a spoon often but that pattern works across the board. Not to complicate things but categories of fish would be interesting say rainbow, 'eye and pike etc... Cause it gets a lot more specific for me.... Great thread.

A certain colour on a rapala tail dancer . Not 100% it would out fish the faithful twister tail however it would average larger fish in most situations Ime.

1 size 1 lure.

That would be bloody tough but I think a 1/4 oz five of diamonds would be about the best compromise I can think of.

A size 8 or 10 single snelled hook for all fish.

You can catch a big fish on a small hook, but you can't catch small fish with a big hook. (usually)

Whoops, missed the part where he said "or hook", I'm pretty sure I've caught most of what swims in Alberta and quite a bit of what swims beyond on a #6 baitholder hook with either a worm or a minnow on it.

Len Thompson in either size 00 or 07 in red/white.

Have caught grayling, rainbows, cutthroat, lakers, whitefish, salmon, cod and pretty well everything else that I have cast or jigged at with these lures.

Cheers

What would your one perch lure be? Pike lure? Eye lure? Trout lure?

Perch: Small grub jib tipped with maggot.
Pike: Firetiger Rapala deep diver Plug
Walleye: Firetiger 1/4 ounce jig with small flasher. Tipped with minnow. (I find a slip bobber a great way to present it around 12" off the bottom regardless of distance cast. It becomes snag free and is a great strike indicator)
Grayling: White jig w/ white rubber grub tail
Trout: Trolling- willow leaf with wedding bands Casting- 5 o diamonds Spoon.

Tough choice between a No. 0 red & white Len Thompson or a blaze orange Mepps spinner...I think the Len Thompson would be my final decision though.

Fave walleye lures are bottom bouncing with leach to locate, then plain jig head any color with small minnow once they are found. I like to use minnows on the smaller side because you get more in a tub and when the bites on, I can go through a lot of tubs. I also find I pick up more incedental perch with small minnows which pleases me.:)
