Had a good but disappointing day at rolling hills on sat pike were hitting good the kids and i were catching lots of hammer handles and some good wallys when it happened. We were trolling along when it felt like i hooked bottom. Then my rod started peeling line. I figured it was a gooder the fish ran four times and by the time i got her in it had been twenty min. She was barely hooked i brought her on board for a few pics and was going to release her. 44 inches long and 23 pounds. I got her back in the water and she kicked and swam off only to float up thirty seconds later. I drove over and tried for twenty min to revive her to no avail. Now i wish she had just spit the hook and i feel horrible. So I'm looking for a taxi near calgary to do her some justice that she deserves. Has anyone used Cams taxidermy or knows of anyone else in the area your help would be appreciated. :sad0125:

Should have thrown her in the live well to help revive her :scared0018:

It happens, 20 minutes is along time to have a fish on though.

I don't think that boat has a live well ! Same thing happened to me with with a 32 lb laker, and I put it on the wall as well ! Nice fish, good job for trying to let her go !
