Recently a friend had been at the provincial park Big Hills Springs and said the creek was probably too small (and shallow) for fishing. I'm just checking if it is worth while to fish this place. Any idea of other species besides bulls? I couldn't really find much info on this place for fishing.
Thanks

I can only comment on what I've seen being there a couple weeks ago and the creek does seem too small, roughly 2 feet across where you turn south to enter the park so casting in it would be pretty tough. Not sure how deep it is or if it holds any fish.
Upstream of the parking lot along the hiking trail is full of 2-4 feet waterfalls and little runs that are only ankle deep and didn't see any possible fish holding sports, at least not sizable fish.
The creek itself is also behind a barbed wire fence and not sure if it is surrounded by private land or not.
Love the place though, great to bring kids!

There used to be some 4" brook trout in there. We would find them when collecting invertebrates under the rocks. Not sure it qualifies as a fishing spot

maybe they'd nibble some dry flies on the top
