Lineham Lakes

Hello,
Anyone familiar with the fishing at Lineham Lakes?
I'd like to make the hike but was wondering if we are allowed to camp by the lakes?
Any advice or tips would be welcomed.

you can still book "sites" at the Lakes via parks office. its pretty much random camping. there was sites there back in 80's/90's I think when the cliff trail was still doable, its mostly crumbled away now.
Fishing up there is likely best in the park, big cutty's that will hit damn near anything. I am convinced we caught a golden trout there last year but maybe thats just a fishin story....
best access is via Rowe meadows and up Lineham ridge, hike the ridge towards Hawkins and the drop in is reasonably obvious.
it can get pretty chilly up there even in the summer.
If you do camp back there be respectful and dont leave trash, I've found all sorts of stuff. dont need to give Parks a reason to close off camping there for good.
